Rachel Lowell is one of the finalists of this year’s edition of Għanja tal-Poplu – Żgħażagħ, a singing festival dedicated to original Maltese Songs. Rachel will be singing the song “Li Tizra Tahsad” written by Emil Calleja Bayliss and music composed by Philip Vella
The festival is organized by the Committee, L-Għanja tal-Poplu together with St Benedict College of Ħal-Kirkop with the support of the Ministry of Education and the Academy of the Maltese. The Malta Concert Orchestra of Pjazza Teatru Rjal is offering a group of musicians who will accompany the songs under the direction of Mro.Paul Abela and Mro.Joe Brown acting in collaboration with the composer of the finalist songs.
On stage Rachel will be accompanied by four backing Vocals. These are Alexia Micallef, Cyrine Amri, Hannah Angelone and Rebecca Grech.
The final will held on Friday 2 March 2018 at the theatre of St Benedict College in Kirkop. The singers will perform twice, once in the morning in front of School students and in the evening in front of the general audience.
